In late 1996, AWS launched it's first PurTest® product, the PurTest® Bacteria Test Kit, in an effort to establish an extensive line of do-it-yourself water tests.

 The PurTest® Lead Test Kit was introduced early in 1997 and the PurTest® Iron/Hardness Plus Test Kit, was launched later in the year. In the fall of 1997, the fourth PurTest® product, the PurTest® Home Water Analysis Kit, was introduced and therefore completed the first line of comprehensive, easy-to-use, and reliable consumer water test kits on the market.
A fifth PurTest® test kit for the detection of pesticides was added in 1999.  The Company also began marketing a wide range of water testing strips for private label customers.  PurTest® continues to be sold internationally as well.  In late 2000, the company announced the PurTest® Arsenic Test, the sixth and newest product in the series of PurTest® do it yourself home water testing kits.

 The Company was awarded the prestigious Consumer Products Award for the PurTest® product line at Carnegie Hall 1999 and 2000, and was awarded the Best New Product of 2000 by "Today's Homeowner" magazine.
